08-26-06 St. Orlando FL: 2310 hrs. On the bus. Tonight was
the Hard Rock Café. It’s a big ballroom and the sound
goes all over the place but I think we sounded good in there. I had
a great time playing and the audience was really good to us. Sometimes
in FL, they can be a little wild with the projectiles but tonight,
they were merciful. I didn’t check out X tonight but went straight
for the bus and worked on a 2nd draft of a foreword I am writing for
a book called Punk Love which is a collection of Susie J’s photographs
of the Washington DC Punk scene in the early 80’s. Many of these
photos you’ve seen before like the Teen Idles single cover as
well as the first Minor Threat record. There are some great Minor
Threat shots in this book and even some pictures of me I have never
seen. When there’s a release date, I’ll let you know and
also do a newsletter about it. It’s a beautiful collection of
images from that time and definitely worth checking out. We are now
rolling towards New Orleans LA where we have a half day off to give
our battered bus driver some time to sleep so he can pull us into
TX in one piece.
